Thanks Susan. I totally agree with you, they can all be close together in a sense. The major distinction come for what results from the interaction and I suggest that active listening has more flexibility and may result in better results.

I’m going to be writing about selective attention in my own blog next week. I usually think of that as related to visual attention. Thanks for reminding me that it can include auditory as well.
